Our New Neighbors!

A few days ago while my husband was mowing grass, he noticed that we had some new neighbors. When I came home from work on my lunch hour, he and my daughter were eager for me to meet these new neighbors. My daughter begins walking me out our back door. This was odd because we have no houses in back of us. A little closer walk revealed this.....

Do you see her? Right in the middle of the picture? It's a bird. This was the closest I could get without disturbing her because she was laying on these....

Aren't they precious? I don't know a whole lot about birds, but what would possess them to lay eggs in the middle of a yard? We have squirrels, deer and apparently a cat that I've never seen before until today. I was checking on the bird through our kitchen window and noticed a big white cat hunched down harassing the little family. I quickly ran out there to shoo it away and that's how I was able to snap the picture of the eggs. I hope they make it.

It's been a while!

I can't believe we are half way through June and I haven't posted anything! It's been quite a busy month already. I have already celebrated both my dad and my husband's father's day, my younger sister graduated high school and our AC broke at home so we had a few days with no AC and when you live down south, that just isn't cool (pun intended) LOL:)

I haven't done any crafting because I've been pretty busy with other things, but hopefully, I'll be able to get some projects done soon and post them.

MPS Father's Day Challenge

Here is my submission for the My Pink Stamper Father's Day Challenge. I think I speak for most of us paper crafters when I say that masculine cards are my least favorite. They are....well...challenging! But that's exactly why I love these challenges. It gives us a chance to go outside our comfort zone. Overall, I'm actually pretty pleased with how this card turned out and I think my dad will be too! :)

I used Paper Pups cricut cartridge for the "relax" and Storybook for "Dad." The paper is from a paper pad called Occasions and Celebrations Year Book Paper Pad. I stamped the inside with an alphabet stamp set by Making Memories.

Trip Down Memory Lane

I was going through some old pictures last night and ran across a couple that I've been wanting to scrapbook for a while. Well, today I am off work, my daughter is in school and my hubby is working. With that said, I am in full scrapbook mode.

This first layout is of my daughter's dedication. I can't believe that was 12 years ago! It's a very simple layout and can you believe it? NO cricut cuts whatsoever!! Sometimes, I amaze myself.

This one is my wedding day. I don't know what it is about this picture, but I absolutely love it. I think it's my favorite from our special day. Maybe it's that we weren't posing, we were just being us; laughing and just being in love. I used Storybook cricut cartridge for all the cuts.

Momo's Challenge

Here is my submission for Momo's Challenge. We had to create a child or teen's birthday card. I just got Everyday Paper Doll's today and I love it! It is so easy to use. I can see that I'll get alot of use out of this cartridge.

Everything was cut out using Everyday Paper Dolls except the "Birthday Girl", which was cut using the Storybook cartridge.

Teacher Appreciation Week

It's Teacher Appreciation Week in our area and with my daughter now in middle school, that means five different teachers. I was trying to think of an inexpensive, yet nice way to show the teachers they are appreciated without breaking that bank and came up with this idea. You've probably all seen a tutorial or another about covering the Hershey nuggets. I covered them using patterned paper cut at 1" x 3". Then I just put them in the cellophane sleeves that I put my cards in and the topper is the marquee shape cut from the Storybook cricut cartridge. The bottom marquee is cut at 5 1/2" and the top layer is cut at 5". The thanks and stars stamp sets were from the dollar spot at Michael's.

It was so difficult to get a good picture of these! The light kept shining off the cellophane causing a really bad picture, so this is the best I could do. You can click on the picture to see an enlarged image.

Not sure why the first picture looks orange and yellow, it's actually red and yellow.
